How to beat writer's block + Interviewing my main character.
+ a preview of the RHYTHM & MUSE audiobook, and more.
Hello friends and Happy Monday! July was extremely busy, as we’ll get into below. I had a lot of good content around the internet that I want to share with you in case you missed it!
Thank you so much for subscribing to my newsletter so you can be the first to see everything that’s going on!
Ever experience writer’s block? I wrote a fun list of ways that I personally combat it for Writer’s Digest! Read here.
I had the absolute HONOR of being a Camp Counselor for Camp NaNoWriMo! If you don’t know, NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. NaNoWriMo celebrates this by creating a community to support you while you write that novel you’ve been wanting to write - 50k words in 30 days. This takes place in November, but a modified version takes place in July. I’ve done this a few times (you can see some footage of me participating in 2015 here) and this year, I got to participate as an author giving advice 🥰 It was such a special moment! I answered a LOT of writing/author related questions. Check it out here.
I also participated in a YA ROMANCE panel for the famed Books of Wonder bookstore that you can check out here!
For Women’s Writers, Women’s Books, I got to put my Journalism hat back on and “interview” Darren Armstrong, the main character of my latest novel, RHYTHM & MUSE. It was a fun way to ask Darren questions that I would truly, actually ask him if he were a real person. I loved this so much and thank the publication for having me. Check it out here after you read the novel - it’s spoiler-y!
Do you prefer audiobooks or physical copies? If you prefer audiobooks, check out this preview of the RHYTHM & MUSE audiobook, read by Aaron Goodson. I’m still listening to this, and I absolutely love it!
A fun surprise that’s been happening in July - people have been seeing RHYTHM & MUSE in the airport! So far, it’s been seen in DC, Seattle, and Chicago. What an honor! If you happen to see it in the airport, please feel free to to message me!
Thank you so much for supporting me by reading this email! Subscribe, and feel free to share with others who may enjoy it. My next email will be fun and personal, so please stay tuned for that!
Warmly,
India
