It’s been a while, hasn’t it? To quickly catch you up, there’s been a LOT happening over here: I had my second baby boy, we bought our first home, and I’ve, of course, been gearing up for the launch of my debut YA novel, Rhythm & Muse. I’m so excited! I plan to do a separate and more personal post about everything going on, so stay tuned for that :)
If things look a little different around here, I’ve moved my newsletter to the platform, Substack. Expect more long form writing, and more of my personal musings (pun intended) here! Just think of this email as something to read on your lunch break :)
Have you pre-ordered Rhythm & Muse yet? If not, do so below. Not sure what it’s about? I’ve explained in detail in this blog post, and this video. There’s Black teenage love, family, friends, and of course - music!
Today, I’m on SSR Podcast talking with Alli about a childhood favorite, Princess in the Spotlight by Meg Cabot. This was such a fun time - when I was younger, I would lie in bed for hours and read The Princess Diaries books in one sitting. Take a listen, and let me know what you think!
I’m also gearing up for a virtual school visit today! School visits are my absolute favorite. I love meeting the kids, signing books, and answering all of their great, fun, and even silly, questions. If you are interested in having me visit your school, click here.
I’ll also be at York County Library for 2023 Librarycon this weekend! If you’re in the Charlotte/Rock Hill area, I’d love for you to join me and fellow author Rebecca Smith for some literary fun!
My book launch party info: you’re invited! It’ll be at the newest indie bookstore in my hometown, All Good Books at 6:30pm. Come get your book signed and hear me read a chapter of Rhythm & Muse. I’d love to see you there!
Thank you for reading the first installment of my newly formatted newsletter! As a token of appreciation, the first person who emails me back saying they’ve read will win a signed hardcopy of Rhythm & Muse :)
xo,
India
